Building or developing your network on LinkedIn is not very complicated. According to a study by Antoine David, the development of a “quality” network is the first objective we have on LinkedIn. Building a network is easy. I recently wrote that during a test done in 2016 on several thousand invitations, 70% of people accepted an invitation from someone they didn't know without even looking at their profile. This is also why we see more and more profiles that have 10,000/20,000 or even 30,000 contacts. 30,000 is the maximum limit of LinkedIn: “ To ensure an optimal site experience, members can have a maximum of 30,000 1st-degree connections ”, but we can have more followers. As outdoor posting is limited to 500+, a certain number of profiles indicate in their headline 15K / 22K / 25K+…. probably to make it clear that they are important or that they are good people since they have a big network.
In a commercial approach on LinkedIn (which is not necessarily social selling in the strict sense), we have 3 leverage Email Data effects. This is what I call the 3BEs : Be Found (make your profile easy to find), Be Seen (make yourself visible through your publications, contributions and interactions) and Be In Touch (get in touch directly with your targets, generally following a Boolean search). Regarding Boolean search, do not follow LinkedIn's advice which says that a search with “AND” or without “AND” is the same. You just need to do a test to see that it's false. Here's what LinkedIn says: “ AND searches: If your results need to include two or more terms from a list, you can use the word AND in capital letters as a separator. For example, enter “manager AND director”. Note: You do not need to use AND. If you enter two or more terms, the results displayed will automatically include all terms .
Problem: marketing director, that gives 55,046 people and AND marketing director, that gives 234,533! Wouldn't LinkedIn customer support know how LinkedIn works? Once you have managed to have a prospect in your network and you want to hire them to try to take the relationship further, you often run out of ideas. We don't necessarily know how to approach it or what to use to approach it. And this is where LinkedIn can help us. This happens from the mobile application. From time to time, this functionality appears via PC, but it is not systematic, however, I always have it on the mobile application. When I am on the profile of one of my contacts (here Bruno Fridlansky), the application asks me to send him a message. It's on the next screen that it gets interesting: What is interesting ? It's the light bulb (here circled in red) that appears below “write a message”.
